Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Duties Description Responsible for supervising field staff and handling the documentation, ordering and inventorying of supplies and materials. Position will act as the Sustainability Coordinator working on expanding participation and projects within the Region. Responsible for project supervision of NYWI projects. Responsible for tracking work orders and weeklies being input into the Maintenance Management System, which includes assisting in compiling the annual work plan. Responsible for maintaining health and safety manuals throughout the Region. Assist with recruitment efforts and supporting Region 4 recreation program. This position is also directly involved with Adventure New York, I Love My Park Day and New York Works projects. This position plays a critical supervisory role with the many volunteer groups that support the Region but need direction to stay safe and provide quality work.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment ending no later than 3/31/22. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date which may be prior to date indicated. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
