Additional Comments Why Is This Job Important?
At New York State Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation our mission is to provide safe and enjoyable recreational and interpretive opportunities for all visitors. A part of that mission is to seek out opportunities to increase and enhance programs that serve a diverse audience, including those for whom English is a second language.
Our locations within the Palisades Region receive approximately 2 million visitors per year at their beaches, campgrounds, trails, and other locations. Many of these visitors, particularly at Lake Welch, speak Spanish as a primary language, but there are currently no programs provided in Spanish in the park.
Be the first to help develop and implement a new, inclusive environmental education program at Bear Mountain and Lake Welch for Spanish-speaking visitors!
