Minimum Qualifications Six years’ experience in domestic violence service provision, training and/or education. A Bachelor’s degree can substitute for four years of experience, a Master’s degree can substitute for five years of experience, or a PhD may substitute for six years of specialized experience.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have knowledge of the social services, child welfare and criminal justice systems, knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues, experience in making training or public presentations, and strong writing, speaking, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills. Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge of sexual assault/rape crisis programming, policy, and prevention activities.
Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Director of the Sexual Assault Prevention, Program, and Policy Unit for the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the incumbent is responsible for the provision of technical oversight and support of Enough is Enough program and any agency programming relative to sexual assault prevention, program, and policy.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
• Providing technical assistance to and programmatic oversight of Enough is Enough grant programs and technical assistance grantees;
• Facilitating meetings and providing programmatic support to rape crisis programs and community stakeholders in the gender-based violence field;
• Assisting in the review of sexual assault prevention and programming related education, training, informational materials and policies;
• Conducting research and soliciting stakeholder feedback to enhance project activities;
• Assisting in the development of Unit programming and in the planning, coordination and implementation of Unit initiatives including conducting needs assessment and national and international best practices’ research, organizing stakeholder meetings and establishing ongoing relationships with grantees, relevant stakeholders, and fellow state agencies involved in sexual assault programming and policy, and developing standardized communication to grantees and prospective grantees;
• Assisting in the development of informational and outreach materials
• Coordination of grant applications related Unit programming;
• Preparing written reports as required by the agency and/or funding sources.
