Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or G.E.D. and two years of accounts payable processing experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered, at the discretion of the Corporation.

Knowledge/skill/experience in the following areas is desired:
• Basic math skills
• Exceptional customer service
• Compiling and organizing data and information
• Basic office procedures
• Reconciling of accounts
• Performing multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to work with a database

Working Conditions and Physical Abilities

Work is primarily of an administrative nature and is performed in an office setting with the requirement for fine manipulation skills for computer use.

Duties Description The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for accounts payable processing, gathering, compiling and updating financial data and records to support accounting activities, and other administrative duties within the Accounting unit.

Essential Duties

• Assists in processing accounts payable, which includes ensuring requisitions are completed properly and authorized, assigning numbers to requisitions, coding requisitions, entering purchase orders into a database, matching received invoices with packing slips, moving requisitions to the invoice stage, and preparing vouchers.
• Issues checks and coordinates signatures, ensures all necessary backup is included
• Processes travel approvals and travel expense reimbursements and vouchers, requiring knowledge of New York State Travel Guidelines
• Maintains schedules of administrative expenses
• Receives, sorts, and distributes mail
• Provides backup for EFC’s main phone line and reception
