Salary RangeFrom $144478 to $144478 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State (see limited permit option below); AND
Certification by a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in your specialty OR Permanent New York State employee currently serving in this title, or in comparable title, and eligible for Section 70.1 transfer. Limited Permit Option: If you are licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, AND meet the other requirements for Medical Specialist 2, you are also eligible if you have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.

In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment. If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The medical specialist is responsible for monitoring and improving the level of care provided and help reduce operating costs of the Brooklyn DDSOO over time. The Medical Specialist will be responsible for Individuals care, clinical outcomes, and the implementation and oversight of the quality assessment and performance improvement program. Additionally, successful medical specialist will work closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance Individual care and improve the medical practice. The Medical Specialist will report to the Director of State Operations.
