Minimum Qualifications One year of trade experience subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience such as that required for a Trades Specialist (Carpenter), Construction Equipment Mechanic, Trades Specialist (Electrician), Service & Repair Mechanic (Electronics); Trades Generalist, Grounds Construction Supervisor, Trades Specialist (Locksmith), Trades Specialist (Machinist), Trades Specialist (Mason and Plasterer), Service and Repair Mechanic (Motor Equipment), Trades Specialist (Painter), Trades Specialist (Plumber and Steamfitter), Service & Repair Mechanic (HVAC-R), Trades Specialist (Roofer), or Trades Specialist (Welder). This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators.
Duties Description Ability to perform as a working supervisor in the Key and Lock Control Shop, overseeing maintenance and repair activities of multiple journey level and semi-skilled trades staff; ability to cut and pin keys, and setup building systems based off blueprint hardware (ability to read and understand blueprints); manage the installation of complicated door hardware; maintain all Key Shop records and databases; work with consulting engineers to maintain Campus hardware standards; assist in after hour emergency calls related to door hardware; maintain and update the department’s computerized maintenance management system (AIM); attend construction meetings pertaining to Security Door hardware; ability to wear a negative pressure respirator; Valid NYS Driver’s License required
