Non-competitive minimum qualifications:
Six years of experience* in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights.
*Qualifying experience includes working with organizations concerned with equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, civil rights, minority business development, or similar programs; or in recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members.
Substitutions: Associate’s degree may substitute for two years of the non-supervisory experience; bachelor’s degree for four years; and J.D. or master’s degree for five years.
Duties Description • Coordinate diversity and inclusion efforts for the Department of Environmental Conservation and act as liaison for the designated Diversity Coordinators at Central Office and all Regional offices.
• Research, set up, and attend opportunities for diversity and inclusion in the form of job fairs and recruitment.
• Review requests for reasonable and religious accommodations.
• Take the initiative to draft plans and recommendation methods for implementation for diversity and inclusion based on agency needs and government mandates.
• Compile, organize, research and analyze agency data to determine compliance and identify areas where improvement may be needed.
• Maintain a working relationship with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Management, coordinating with and participating in diversity events throughout the calendar year.
• Participate in exam planning process to ensure equal opportunity is a part of the exam.
• Assist with maintaining and updating the agency’s diversity and inclusion plan; provide reports to management staff as needed.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel may be required.
