Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Grade 14 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or higher, a passing score on the Labor Services Representative exam and a bachelor’s degree*. Note: Candidates must not have failed the most recent examination for this title. Appointments are made at the Trainee 1 level.
*Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.
55b/c:
This position may be designated 55b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Candidate’s must possess a bachelor’s degree*. Please provide a copy of your 55b/c letter, and proof of your degree, when applying.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: As a Labor Services Representative/Trainee you would be trained, under supervision, to assist customers and provide services to the public in accordance with quality and quantity standards mandated by various laws, rules and Federal regulations. You would learn how to interview and elicit information from customers, examine claims issues and make determinations to resolve complex or unusual problems related to eligibility for Unemployment Insurance benefits.

Please Note: Positions in the Unemployment Insurance Division may be in-person, remote, or partially remote and partially in-person. Remote employees will be required to report in-person if directed. These positions may be subject to mandatory and/or voluntary overtime, which may include evening and weekend hours. Shift start times may vary based on operational need.
Fingerprinting/Background Check: Some positions may require a fingerprint/background check. If the position you applied for requires fingerprinting, you will be advised at the time of your interview. There is no cost to candidates, fingerprinting fees are paid for by the Department of Labor.
