Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.

Duties Description The technician in this position would assist in issuing deer damage permits, conducting deer damage permit inspections and responding to information requests regarding deer damage permits. This technician would also serve to answer the general wildlife phone line, responding to general information requests and requests for information on hunting. Additionally, the technician in this position would assist regional staff with collection and submission of wildlife specimens, assist with the collection of biological data on harvested deer and issue bonus deer management permits.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overnight travel and overtime may be required. Weekend and holiday work is required from November through January. The position also requires early morning and evening work. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ArcGIS preferred.

This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration through 3/31/2022. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to date listed. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview.
