Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of the vehicle and traffic law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of vehicles.
Knowledge of the nature of cargo carried and any special handling required.
Ability to lift and carry crates, cartons, boxes and other cargo onto and off of the transport vehicles.
Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license Class B (Commercial Driver's License).
Candidates must be available for overtime as assigned.
Duties Description Motor Vehicle Operators drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property in order to transport people, material and equipment. This position is responsible for the refuse removal from the campus and requires the ability to operate motor vehicles necessary for this task on and off State property.
Duties related to this position include:
Moving or carrying cargo onto, into, off, or out of the vehicle operated.
Monitoring gauges and checking fluid levels and tire pressures.
Tend to the routine maintenance of vehicles operated in order to insure that cargo is moved as required.
Required to plow snow, operate grounds mowing equipment, and assist in all grounds duties as necessary.
Additional Comments This is a full-time, contingent permanent position.
This is a SG-7 position, with a salary range of $33,631 - $41,555.
The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm. Pass days are Saturday and Sunday.
