Minimum Qualifications Eight years of experience* in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
* Substitution: Associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or a similar degree substitutes for two, four, or five years, respectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders; proficiency in social media, web content management platforms, and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
Duties Description The Public Information Specialist 3 (Digital Content), G-25 will execute the Department of Motor Vehicles digital communications strategy; lead media campaign planning and research; supervise and train lower-level staff. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with the Assistant Commissioner for Communications and Marketing to review Creative/Digital Services operations and develop criteria for evaluating performance and goal attainment.
• Oversee the creation/design of informative and appealing graphics, illustrative materials and digital content for social media, agency website, and agency publications, ensuring accuracy and style and branding compliance.
• Establish and monitor plain language standards for all digital communications. Review content to ensure continuity, accuracy, and relevance; as well as adherence to NYS DMV policies, and procedures.
• Participate in the development of website and multi-media projects, providing input on content and messaging, functionality, user experience, interface and design, information architecture, and customer outreach and testing.
• Recommend and implement changes to layout and content for all digital content based on analytics and accessibility and user testing.
• Compile metric reports and presentations for agency executives.
• Work collaboratively with other digital content staff, information technology staff, and internal stakeholders to seamlessly syndicate content.
• Identify new content opportunities.
