Minimum Qualifications
STATE EMPLOYEES
Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as an Assistant Engineer (Civil/Construction); OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a salary grade 20 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1* as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.
Proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) exam is required.

Individuals with current 55b/c status who meet with qualifications below are encouraged to apply. You will need to supply a copy of your eligibility letter when responding to this announcement. Candidates must have current 55b/c eligibility AND meet the following minimum qualifications
Successful completion of a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination; or successful completion of 52 weeks of service as an Engineer Trainee and a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.

Duties Description
Duties include but may not be limited to:
• Supervise and inspect building construction projects of moderate size and complexity.
• Coordinate the operations of contractors and ensure conformity of work to contract estimates, specifications, standards and construction practices.
• Assist higher level staff on larger projects.
• Recommend and prepare contract change orders.
• May supervise consultant work.
• Some travel required.
