Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:

1. A Master’s or higher-level degree in a mental hygiene discipline, hospital, healthcare, public or business administration, human services, or other related field;

AND

2. Nine (9) years of experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, five years of which must have been at a managerial level, including one (1) year in a high-level leadership position comparable to an executive staff level position in a psychiatric center, research institute, or developmental center.

OR

1. Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State or a limited permit to practice medicine in New York State and licensure in another state or Canada;

AND

2. Seven (7) years of experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, two years of which must have been at a managerial level, including one (1) year in a high-level leadership position comparable to an executive staff level position in a psychiatric center, research institute, or developmental center.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description The Executive Director, Psychiatric Center serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CDPC and performs all the duties and functions prescribed in Section 7.21 of the New York State Mental Hygiene Law. Through general supervision and close collaboration with the facility’s Executive Cabinet, the Executive Director is responsible for the administrative leadership and direction of all clinical and non-clinical programs and activities of the facility. The Executive Director works closely with OMH’s Central Office Division of State Operations, local government units, and a network of community providers to ensure continuity of care and effective delivery of services.

Additional Comments The Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director, Psychiatric Center. CDPC provides a full range of quality outpatient and inpatient services to adults and children covering a nine (9) county service area in Upstate New York and is a major teaching site for psychiatry for Albany Medical College. Services are delivered safely in a respectful and caring environment with a primary focus on hope and recovery. CDPC promotes a system of care in which treatment, rehabilitation and recovery are realized through ongoing collaboration with patients, their families and the service providers within the facility’s catchment area. Emphasis is on services that recognize the importance of individual preferences and are person centered, strength-based and evidence-based. Background Investigation and Fees:
