Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have a minimum of four (4) years of litigation experience. Additionally, applicants must be capable of handling all phases of an investigation and litigation, from commencement through trial. Excellent writing, analytical, organizational, negotiation and supervisory skill are also required. Trial experience is a must and the ability to manage a large caseload is essential.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced litigator to serve in the Binghamton Regional Office. The Regional Office represents the State, its agencies and officers in a wide range of federal and state court litigation, as well as handles consumer, charities and social and economic justice matters.
