Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience in an agency or program providing services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, or populations requiring like services. One year of this experience must be at a supervisory level.
At least two years of this experience must have been in the administration of service delivery systems for programs providing services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, or populations requiring like services in areas such as the development of funding proposals , or budget preparation, and/or monitoring the expenditures of funds.
Duties Description The Program Planners provide guidance, under the supervision of the Executive Director, to the Standing Committees of the DDPC and their Subcommittees, work groups, and task forces. In this capacity, they perform all necessary on-going coordinating activities. Responsibilities include: developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the DDPC state plan and related initiatives/activities; conducting policy research and development; reviewing and commenting on plans, activities and budgets of state services agencies; and coordinating advocacy activities.
Other responsibilities include:
Staffing and support to the DDPC and it's committees:
-Attend all required meetings of the DDPC Standing Committees, as well as the executive Committee and the DDPC Council meetings.
-Arrange and prepare related documents and resource materials for Council and Committee meetings.
-Identify and arrange for all relevant presentations for Committee and Council Meetings;
-Prepare and present Committee-related initiatives to Council members and others as necessary.
-Act as the DDPC liaison with the Caucus committee. Work collaboratively with the Committee Chairperson on all aspects of Committee work.
-Act as the lead in engaging new members to the Council.
-Monitors Council membership to ensure compliance with Federal requirements.
-Serve as representatives of the DDPC, providing DDPC, providing DDPC specific input at official functions, conferences, and meetings at the local, state, and national levels.
-Serve as a community resource to individuals seeking disabilities related information from DDPC.
-Other activities as assigned by the Executive Director. Grant-Related Activity:
-Oversee the collection, monitoring and assessment of data, progress and outcomes of assigned DDPC funded projects.
-Travel to project sites, meetings, conferences, and other events as events as required and appropriate.
Environment Scan and Policy Review:
-Participate in assigned interagency activity-Committees, workgroups, and ad hoc planning and oversight groups- as a representative of DDPC and it's work and complete required assignments and tasks.
-Assist in the ongoing review of developmental disabilities services and supports systems to determine gaps and inequalities that would guide current DDPC efforts.
Staff Supervision and Support:
-Supervise program research specialists in research, creation and management of grants, initiatives and projects.
-Supervise student interns activities related to DDPC intra-agency work, processes and project development.
-Collaborate with and provide peer-to-peer support to other Programs Planners and DDPC staff, as needed.
-Oversee staffing and support to the DDPC, it's sub-entities and special projects
