Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for appointment you will be required to pass a Civil Service language exam to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish at a level that will ensure your ability to perform the duties of the position.

Candidates reachable on the Civil Service Eligible list(s) will be canvassed. However, you may also apply if you are eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:


70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Grade 14 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or higher, a passing score on the Labor Services Representative (Spanish Language) exam and a bachelor’s degree*. Note: Candidates must not have failed the most recent examination for this title. Appointments are made at the Trainee 1 level.


Hourly LSR’s are not eligible for transfer or reassignment.

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: You must have a Bachelor’s degree*.

The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the examination to be appointed permanently.

*Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.

55b/c:
This position may be designated 55b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. You must also possess a bachelor’s degree.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As a Labor Services Representative (Spanish Language) assigned to Unemployment Insurance Adjudication Services Office, you would review cases submitted for hearing to ensure they meet quality guidelines. You would be responsible for issuing re-determinations on cases that lack fact finding and revising determinations that fail standards of specificity and clarity

Additional Comments Please Note: Positions in the Unemployment Insurance Division may be in-person, remote, or partially remote and partially in-person. Remote employees will be required to report in-person if directed. These positions may be subject to mandatory and/or voluntary overtime, which may include evening and weekend hours. Shift start times may vary based on operational need.
