Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Duties Description This position will involve implementing an angler survey that involves direct contact interviews of anglers and recording data from fishing trips in a standard manner. Field activities will also include participation in Lake Erie fish sampling aboard RV Argo and other vessels. Other data processing and entry tasks will occur as office work. Other field and lab work will be required as needed.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able negotiate difficult terrain including ladders and work in adverse weather conditions including rough seas. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal water crafts at time of appointment.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration through 11/30/2021. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to date listed. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at interview.
