Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator, Health Program Administrator Trainee 1, or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with Native American (NA) communities and/or community based organizations serving NA communities; knowledge of NA history/culture; knowledge/experience of community engagement and community empowerment strategies; contract management; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint; organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple activities; and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Duties Description The incumbent will assist the First Nations Health and Wellness Program Director in the following ways; contract monitoring and management of existing and future contracts; participating in meetings; and calls with the communities and organizations serving communities; identifying community projects; assisting with the identification of program issues and proposing relevant solutions; providing technical assistance; tracking expenditures; processing vouchers; and detecting and assisting in the resolution of fiscal discrepancies. Additional responsibilities include coordinating travel and meetings, and other duties as assigned.
