Salary RangeFrom $78731 to $99394 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State Professional Engineer License and current registration. To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description There are multiple positions in Maintenance. The prospective candidate may be assigned to either Highway Maintenance, Bridge Maintenance, and / or the Residency Group. Additional details and preferences will be discussed during the interview.
The following are the general duties and responsibilities:
• Serve as a Resident Engineer (RE) for designated area
within the New York City.
• Coordinate maintenance efforts for the assigned highway
maintenance residency in compliance with the policies and
goals established by the Department.
• Monitor road conditions, develop solutions, and work
orders to repair, restore and preserve State roads.
• Coordinate with NYC agencies and Department unit’s
maintenance plans, projects, and work orders necessary
for the upkeep of State Roads.
• Manage Residency responses to emergencies and incidents
requiring Department action. On call for 24/7 to handle
emergencies.
• Coordinate with various Regional Groups and NYCDOT to
resolve all flags and highway related work / emergencies.
• Coordinate with various NYC Agencies; including, NYC
Homeless services, NYC Sanitation, NYPD, and NYSDOT
Construction to resolve homeless issues / concerns.
• Attend / coordinate monthly State-City task force meetings.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System (ICS) to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations
