Minimum Qualifications QUALIFICATIOINS:
Transfer Qualifications: Any current Office Assistant 3
Or
Anyone eligible for a 70.1 Transfer
Promotional Qualifications: Anyone currently reachable on the Civil Service List
Provisional Qualifications: In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who
meet the qualifications below may be qualified for a provisional
appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had twelve months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional* title allocated to Grade 7 or higher. Qualifying titles are available at: https://www.cs.ny.gov/examannouncements/announcements/37837titles.cfm. Only the title(s) listed is qualifying for this examination(s).
*Only paraprofessional titles in an office environment will be considered qualifying. Service in a direct care title is not qualifying experience. Examples of non-qualifying titles are: Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1, Direct Support Assistant, Food Service Worker 1, Licensed Practical Nurse, Mental Health Therapy Aide, Security Services Assistant, Youth Division Aide 2, and Youth Division Aide 3
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Hiring of staff in compliance with Civil Service Law
• Conducting background checks Including but not limited to :
o Fingerprints – Request Dispositions from employee if needed.
o CAPA
o MHL
o SEL
o Nurse Registry
o Medicaid
o Sex Registry
o NYSTEP
o DMV/WEX – Adding new employees and deleting separated employees
o CBC System - Ongoing updates with Hires / Separations / Candidates not Hired
o Contact applicants regarding missing information
• SCR processing
• Recruitment
• Job Fairs
• Advertising
• Overseeing Performance Evaluation program
• Hotel/Milage Proxy in SFS for Direct Care staff
• Other duties as required
