Minimum Qualifications As per Civil Service Standards. Valid NYS CDL Class B or Class A Driver’s license required. Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake also required. Must be able to drive all manner of vehicles (Plows, Vans, Buses, Box Trucks, Fork Lifts, Pay Loaders, etc.) Ability to load, unload and carry cargo to and from the vehicle operated and/or storage point for all assigned areas for landscaping, snow removal, salting, and special events required. Scheduled and non-scheduled overtime (to support campus events) throughout the year required. Must have and keep a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.
Duties Description As per Civil Service Standards duties will include, but limited to: drives a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property in order to transport people, material, and equipment as required, and plow snow from roadways and parking lots. May map routes, itineraries, and points of call; moves or carries cargo onto, into, off of, or out of the vehicle operated; moves or caries cargo from the vehicle to the delivery or storage point; posts manifests, inventories, and other records of goods and people transported. Tends to the routine maintenance of vehicles operated in order to ensure that cargo is moved as required and changes oil and spark plugs; changes tires and washes vehicles; pumps gas and adds water to radiator, oil to crankcase, and air to the tires; and replaces lamp bulbs, as necessary. May operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds or building trades crews.
Additional Comments The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
In addition to the annual salary, this position is eligible for $3,026.00 downstate location pay. Different shifts may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the College.
