Minimum Qualifications "Reassignment & Transfer Opportunities: Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent, competitive status as an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), Grade 6, OR a New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive, service in a title at or above Grade 4, and deemed eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), Grade 6, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 will provide critical administrative support to the Oneonta District Office. The Office Assistant 1 will be responsible for answering the telephone; responding to questions concerning policy and/or procedures and referring calls to appropriate staff members for technical information; filing; typing correspondence; and preparing and sending permit renewals. In addition, the position will organize paper flow in the office. The Oneonta District Office inspects and permits operations in Delaware, Greene and Otsego counties.
Additional Comments Full time, permanent appointment. *Candidates serving in certain titles will be required to take and pass a keyboarding examination to qualify for appointment.
