Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Permanent service as a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry).
OR
2. Eligible to 70.1 transfer to a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry).
OPEN COMPETETIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a New York State license to practice as a registered professional nurse; and certification by the New York State Education Department in a specialty** area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
You must meet the current requirements as prescribed by the New York State Board of Nursing for prescribing medication.
**Specialty area must coincide with the scope of practice performed by an incumbent; this denotes appropriate parenthetic.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry), you would provide primary psychiatric management for Developmentally Disabled/dually diagnosed adults ages 18+, in residential and community-based settings. This position works collaboratively with a clinical team of Nurses, licensed Physicians, and Psychologists as well as management overseeing residential homes, day habilitation, and an Article 16 Clinic.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Providing psychiatric care for caseload of individuals
• Managing medication. Prescribing and renewing patient prescriptions for a caseload of patients living in the surrounding area.
• Maintaining and reporting lab values for those treated with Clozaril, order and review lab and diagnostic tests for routine monitoring.
• Maintaining documentation in an Electronic Health Record including entry of billing data.
• Maintaining compliance with Article 16 and 633 regulations.
• Utilizing telehealth as needed based on the individual’s needs.
• Providing in person services on-site in the community homes and day habs.
• Integrating and conferring with medical team as needed to manage patient needs.
• Making referrals to specialists, as needed. Work collaboratively with team to integrate care with specialty providers and other clinicians.
Additional Comments From $107669 to $123405 Annually
Posted Hiring Salary includes an Increased Hiring Salary ($5,757) and a Geographic differential ($20,000) added to the statutory hiring rate ($81,912) PS&T Grade 24. Posted Maximum Salary includes the sum of a Geographic differential ($20,000) added to the statutory job rate ($103,405) PS&T Grade 24.

• CAPA: Must be cleared by the NYS Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment, if position requires working with minors and not previously cleared.
