Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of NYS Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) and Medicaid enrollment/eligibility and reporting systems. Experience in managing multiple projects; proofreading complex materials; and providing technical assistance to outside organizations.
Duties Description Located in the Bureau of Program Implementation and Enrollment within the Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight, this position will assist in the implementation and oversight of the Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) program in NYS. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical assistance to Local District Social Services staff (LDSS), New York State of Health marketplace (NYSoH), Managed Care Organizations, New York Medicaid Choice (enrollment broker), and health care providers. The incumbent will also interact with other bureaus and offices within the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), the NYS Department of Health and other State agencies. Additional responsibilities include: identifying system problems and providing potential solutions, assisting with the review of data for State and Federal audits, and the development, implementation and monitoring of system guidelines for users.
