Duties Description The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is offering a terrific opportunity to lead the agency’s Energy and Sustainability program. Are you the right candidate? You are if you have a passion for clean energy and its impact on environmental conservation and sustainability! We are looking for a leader that can take the program to the next level. Currently, 15 percent of OPRHP’s electricity needs are produced from clean energy sources, primarily from solar arrays built by Parks’ staff in our parks and historic sites. The settings for these clean energy sources must be carefully planned, sited, and constructed so they do not interfere with the aesthetics, use and enjoyment of our historic sites and parks. An aggressive goal has been set to have 50 percent of our electricity produced from clean energy sources by 2030. This includes consideration of all clean energy alternatives; solar, hydro-electric, wind, etc. The position will also help lead efforts to de-carbonize Parks’ buildings and operations and meeting the State's Climate Change goals. If you think you have what it takes to help OPRHP achieve its energy-independence goals, then OPRHP wants you to JOIN OUR TEAM!
Additional Comments CANDIDATES SHOULD:
Have experience evaluating and analyzing data from energy management systems
Have experience planning for the installation and use of solar arrays and / or other sustainable energy resources
Have extensive knowledge of net-zero technologies and clean energy alternatives to carbon-based systems
Have supervisory experience
Be able to travel to job sites / OPRHP facilities statewide as needed
