Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, English, or a related field; and seven (7) years of experience in public relations, communications, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related field, including two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. A Master’s Degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Duties Description Incumbent will serve as OASAS’s Associate Commissioner of Internal and External Affairs overseeing OASAS Office of Internal and External Communications and will be responsible for creating and managing agency messaging across a variety of platforms (e.g., oral, print, radio, television, social media) to ensure the messaging meets State and agency goals. This includes management of the high-profile, multi-faceted communication and marketing of OASAS services; development and implementation public awareness and educational campaigns; coordination with the Governor’s Press Office; shaping OASAS’ messaging with elected officials and agency constituencies; preparation of speeches and talking points for leadership; and coordination of agency participation in special events. Travel approximately 20-30%.
