Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have at least five (5) years of litigation experience. Trial experience is a must and personal injury experience is a plus. Familiarity with the Court of Claims and/or Not-For Profit Law is also a plus. Superior writing, analytical and organizational skills are required. Some travel also will be required.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the OAG be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.

Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced litigator to work in its Syracuse Regional Office. The Regional Office represents the State, its agencies and officers in a wide range of federal and state court litigation, affirmative and defensive. The selected attorney will handle all phases of litigation from commencement through trial.
