Minimum Qualifications • Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State AND certification by a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in your specialty
• Current Medical Specialist 2
• Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Medical Specialist 2, by the Department of Civil Service.
Duties Description • Provision of direct clinical services and overall medical management for individuals in State Operated IRAs.
• Conducting examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing treatments, assessing urgent care needs, and reviewing consults, hospital discharge paperwork, legal guardianship documentation, new admission referral packages.
• Coordination with hospitals, health care facilities, local DOH, and Medical Examiner’s office.
• Use of Electronic Health Record, participation in IDT meetings and facility wide committees.
• Assist with MOLST and mortality review process.
• Provide on-call medical coverage on a rotational basis.
• Ensure full compliance with OPWDD/DOH policies and regulations, accepted standards of medical practice, and the provision of quality medical care services.
• Clinical supervision of the state operated Physician’s Assistant and Nurse Practitioner.
• Provide support to State Operations and Regional Office staff.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Region 6, State Operations.

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
