Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive or senior management role.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Juris Doctor or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, and experience in investments, corporate governance, pension fund administration and or public policy.
Duties Description The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Executive Team on behalf of the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer, overseeing strategic initiatives from development through successful execution. The successful candidate will keep the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer apprised of regulatory, public policy, global initiatives, and corporate governance through detailed research, strategic planning, and steadfast communication. The SA-EDCIO will conduct special projects across a wide range of topics; leveraging internal and external resources to provide timely and accurate information, analysis, and recommendations to the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer. Additional responsibilities include representing the Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer at high-level meetings and functions, as well as other duties as assigned.

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE WORK POSITION.
This position does not come under the jurisdiction of the Department of Civil Service. It comes under the Manager/Executive Plan. New appointees to Manager/Executive Plan positions must serve a one-year review period. If you are currently employed by NYSTRS in a Confidential or Negotiating Unit position, you will be granted leave without pay from your current position while you are serving the review period. Upon successful completion of the review period, the hold on your current position will be discontinued and you will no longer have any rights under Civil Service.
