Salary RangeFrom $48237 to $76387 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list* used for filling this title; one year of permanent, competitive service as a Senior Accountant; or one year of permanent, competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of eligible titles include: Auditor 1, Senior Budgeting Analyst, Senior Internal Auditor, State Program Examiner 1, Tax Auditor 1.
Please note, candidates in a transferable title may also require the additional qualification of 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing or taxation.
*Candidates with a score of 100 or higher on the current PCO (Select Titles) eligible list who did not receive a canvass letter via email may also apply. Please make note of this in your cover letter.
Duties Description The incumbent will assist NYSIF’s Cash Management and Investment departments with a variety of tasks. Duties include the but are not limited to:
• Reconcile the Disability Benefits Fund (DBF) cash receipts on a daily basis.
• Reconcile the DB payments processed to NYSIF’s Bank of America cash deposits.
• Process the DB and Aggregate Trust Fund (ATF) claims refunds.
• Calculate and provide the Investment group with available Cash to be invested daily. Provide Cash Management group estimated Cash availability for operating expenses and help determine if transfers are required to satisfy cash requirements
• Work with the Investment group and external brokers to ensure that trades settle by end of day.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of Third Party Administrators bank accounts to NYSIF general ledger.
• Complete External Auditor requests as well as Internal Audit and Internal Control requests.
• Complete ad-hoc reports and assignments as necessary.
Additional Comments This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Candidates must possess a bachelor's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation, or a bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses. Please note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
