Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Administrative Specialist 1; OR current New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position at SG-11 or above and eligible for transfer under section 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4** of the Civil Service Law.*
**70.4 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service at the SG-11 or above AND possession of a bachelor’s degree; AND standing on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible lists.
PCO Appointment: Individuals with a score of 100 or above on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list are encouraged to apply.

Successful completion of two-year traineeship leads to appointment as a Administrative Specialist 1, SG-18.
Duties Description Reporting to the Administrative Specialist 2, the incumbent of this position will support and manage administrative duties for the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), oversee recruitment and hiring for OCM, and coordinate diversity and inclusion initiatives and review for the agency.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee onboarding of new agency employees.
• Collect data and metrics for diversity reporting.
• Attend outreach events and assist OGS HR with employment outreach for recruiting.
• Collaborate with OCM managers and supervisors to provide information to OGS HR as needed.
• Initiate and prepare requests to fill vacancies, justifications, and organizational charts for the purposes of filling vacant positions and any classification needs.
• Oversee and monitor the maintenance of training records for OCM staff employees, ensuring compliance with all mandatory training.
• Collaborate with Administration leadership on priority projects as needed.
Additional Comments Telecommuting opportunities to be discussed at interview. All Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) employees are required to be tested weekly for COVID-19 unless they are fully vaccinated.
