Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 will conduct coordination, education and outreach to schools, parents and healthcare providers regarding school immunization requirements to ensure high participation rates; manage the annual school immunization surveys conducted at child care programs through post-secondary institutions to ensure high participation rates and accurate data submission; assist in the management of the school immunization records audit process conducted by School Audit Program staff, State regional staff and county staff; organize the analysis of school immunization survey data; directly supervise 3 temporary staff and two Health Program Administrator positions.
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience with implementing policy and program requirements; reviewing information for completeness and accuracy; attention to detail; experience using Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook); experience using online (web-based) computer systems; proficient in using SAS for data management, statistical analysis, and report generation; excellent communication skills, include developing and conducting presentations or trainings; supervisory experience; and ability to work independently and prioritize work load.
Additional Comments Contingent Permanent, competitive, full-time. Transfer candidates may be asked for their SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
