Duties Description Under the supervision of a Sr Investigator assigned to the Computer Forensic Laboratory located at Division Headquarters, the incumbent of this position will:

DUTIES

Maintenance of all CCU/CFL training records in SLMS and an internal MS Access training database. Act as a secondary administrator in SLMS to create courses and add training records. Collect and file training certificates of completion for CCU/CFL members.

Prepare travel and training orders for CCU and CFL members.

Perform final administrative review of closed CCU/CFL cases in LIMS to check for errors or omissions. File case folders at the Forensic Investigation Center in accordance with FIC procedures.

Prepare monthly CCU/CFL statistics and summary of training for submission to Field Command. Use LIMS to run multiple reports, collect necessary information, and record the information in an Excel spreadsheet and Word document.

Run monthly LIMS case closure reports to ensure all CFL members have completed and submitted necessary FPR (Forensic Partner Reporting) reports to USSS NCFI (National Computer Forensics Institute). Provide reminders to members who need to complete FPR reports.

Maintenance of all CCU/CFL certification and proficiency testing records. Notify members and management of upcoming certification renewals to ensure certifications do not lapse.

Schedule applicant interviews and create interview question packets for the panel members.

Collect and track unit member performance evaluations, issue reminders to supervisors for overdue performance evaluations.

Prepare and maintain unit personnel files which includes supervisory notes, letters of commendations, disciplinary actions, and promotions and transfers.

Provide administrative oversight of CFL vehicle maintenance; monitor information entered in FleetWave database (fuel, VIN#s, odometer readings, etc); procure, distribute and track gas cards for the unit, file vehicle maintenance records.

Create and maintain PERS-29 and PERS-30 for CFL members and civilians. Verify records are complete and correct monthly.

Ensure CCU/CFL contact information database is updated and distributed as needed.

Support day-to-day operations by answering the telephone, filing paperwork and case folders, receiving documents, data entry, photocopying and other clerical tasks as requested.

Inventory and order office supplies for the CFL.

Work on special projects as assigned by CFL management.

Minimum Qualifications One (1) year permanent service as a New York State Employee in a title allocated SG-9 or higher,

Or

Two (2) years of permanent service as a New York State employee in a title allocated SG-6 or higher.
