Duties Description • Administer state Surplus Property Program processes.
• Enforce and comprehend rules and regulations in accordance with the state Finance Law, auction contract(s), and internal procedures.
• Approve the transfer surplus property to state agencies and municipalities.
• Schedule, coordinate, and manage online auctions.
• Investigate and resolve complaints including title and registration discrepancies.
• Prepare, process, track and record financial transactions.
• Prepare and validate documentation including program and financial reports.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Correspond and collaborate professionally with agency surplus coordinators, online auction vendors, municipalities, and onsite agency contacts.
• Proficiently utilize Microsoft Office Suite, program specific software, and various web-based applications.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required.
• Overnight travel throughout New York State is required.
• Flexibility to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures is required.
• Perform the full range of supervisory duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 12 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
