Duties Description The Office of Mental Health is recruiting to fill a Business Systems Analyst 3, G-25, position in the Office of the Chief Medical Informatics Officer. Under the direction of the Director of EHR Operations, the Business Systems Analyst 3 will Lead the design and management of clinical documentation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices inpatient care.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Oversee the work of mid-level business systems analysts, project managers, nurses, and other staff, ensuring that project tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards .Serve as a unit lead within a larger EHR Implementation project Team.
•Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the implementation team.
•Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize workflows related to assessment, treatment, and discharge planning, enhancing the overall patient experience.
•Guide the implementation of critical components such as Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) and Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), ensuring that these systems integrate seamlessly into clinical workflows.
•Engage with nursing and pharmacy leadership to align EHR functionalities with clinical practices and safety protocols.
•Assist in the technical design and build of the EHR system, ensuring that it meets both clinical and operational requirements.
•Lead comprehensive testing and quality assurance (QA) efforts, establishing rigorous protocols to validate system performance and functionality.
•Direct data analysis initiatives to assess the effectiveness of EHR implementations and identify areas for improvement.
•Establish reporting frameworks that provide insights into clinical operations, patient outcomes, and system usage.
•Drive efforts to standardize business processes across departments, ensuring efficiency and consistency in EHR usage.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and document standard operating procedures that support optimal EHR workflows.
•Lead change management initiatives, facilitating communication and training efforts to enhance user acceptance and engagement with the new EHR system.
Identify and mitigate resistance to change, promoting a culture of adaptability and innovation within the organization.
•Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources, ensuring that all aspects of the HER implementation are executed effectively.
•Monitor project progress, providing updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on key milestones, risks, and challenges.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, clinical teams, and IT departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the implementation process.
•Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, advocating for their needs and ensuring their input is incorporated into the EHR design and implementation strategy.
•Lead efforts to evaluate the post-implementation success of the EHR system, utilizing feedback to drive continuous improvement and system enhancements.
•Facilitate post-implementation reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices, ensuring that future projects benefit from insights gained.
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Business Systems Analyst 3, SG-25; OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above G-23 and eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
