Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for this title; one year of permanent, competitive class service as an Office Assistant 2; or one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include: Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail).
Duties Description Candidates hired for this position will be providing clerical and office support to claims services for the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) Disability Benefits and Paid Family Leave Insurance Business unit. Specific duties include but are not limited to: timely data entry of Disability and Paid Family Leave claims to meet statutory deadlines; providing responses to claims customer inquiries that are initiated from telephone, fax, online webmail and postal mail communications; various clerical or office assistance to support the needs of the department.
